Went for a massage and was practically mugged! Don't bother taking off your jewellery because you won't see it again.
I came here with my friend in 21/01/25 for a spa day. Loved the facilities, but my day was ruined when my expensive diamond necklace mysteriously went missing.
I was asked to remove it, finished the massage, and left it in the room with the therapist. I was in a rush and stupidly forgot to pick it up at the end. Went back 5 minutes later, and it was gone. No-one but the therapist had been in the room. I turned the lights on and searched everywhere. No necklace!
I've since reported this incident to the police and had to claim on my insurance for the item. When emailing the hotel, they say that they'd searched and nothing.
No offer of any kind of compensation or investigation for my terrible experience, nor have they bothered to chase the matter up.
From a 4* hotel, I expected more. Disappointed is an understatement!

Has given itself 4 stars, which it may have been many years ago. Certainly not now. It's a nice hotel in a picturesque area with lovely grounds. Needs work to bring it back up to scratch. Good value for the winter deal, but I wouldn't pay much more. The spa was a bit of a letdown for my wife. Not really at the level advertised. Dinner was good, but breakfast was just an average buffet.

Great golfing experience. Fantastic grounds and lovely architecture. Pro-shop could slightly improve their advise and tee-times. Overall a great day out! ...Loved the water hazards today 🙂

The hotel grounds are nicely kept and the room was clean and comfortable. We had a room at the back of the Coach house building (I think that's what it's called) overlooking the lake which was lovely to look out on in the morning. Staff were friendly and welcoming.
We had a double room, the bed was two single beds pushed together, so it dipped in the middle. It was ok but not the best. The pillows weren't comfortable. The bathroom was very outdated and the lights bright white and blinding in there. I couldn't see a way to turn some of them off.
We used the indoor pool which was really cold, it's welcoming if you've just come out the jacuzzi or sauna and need to cool down, but otherwise unpleasant if you head into the pool first! You need a pound coin for the women's changing room lockers but not for the mens, those have a code you need to set. The sauna and steam room were fine. Just basic really. There's no luxury spa feel or anything like that. If I'd paid to come on a specific spa break, I'd be disappointed as I'd want more modern looking facilities.
We had dinner in the hotel but were disappointed with the food. There wasn't much choice on the menu and nothing sounded that good. I fancied a steak but they didnt have it on the menu so I got a beef burger. My husband ended up choosing the same as it seemed the best thing on the menu. Unfortunately it wasn't great, it was tough and filled with loads of garlic sauce, neither of us could finish it and the pretzel bun it came on sounded good but it didn't really work. The fries were the best bit so our dinner ended up being fries. We decided not to bother with desert. We did have a cream tea earlier in the day too which was nice, but again just basic really. No frills. Also, when they served us a drink with our evening meal, the glass they gave my husband to pour his drink into had a lipstick mark on the rim, so had not been washed. I don't know how they missed that. We didn't make a fuss, just didn't use it.
The bar area looked like a nicer cozier place to eat rather than the restaurant (Brasserie). We asked for a bottle of water to take back to the room at the bar and realised it was so much nicer in there but empty.. Wish we could have sat in there to eat. The decor was nicer. They allowed us a big jug of water, but not a bottle, so that looked a bit odd walking back to the room looking like a waiter holding a big jug. Then the room key didn't work, so had to walk all the way back and reset it.
The breakfast the next day was nice. A buffet breakfast. You could only fit two people at the buffet so there was a bit of a wait to get to the food. I had a cooked breakfast, they also had a few pastries and some cereal and toast available. We had orange juice from the buffet, but it was soo sugary, tasted like Sunny Delight lol, neither of us finished it. When I had finished eating, a waitress swooped in and took my empty plate. Really they should wait until all have finished eating before clearing the table, it makes you feel rushed.
This place could be fantastic but needs updating inside in places and better food and detail to finishing touches.

Awful place, skanky "spa* and advertising full of lies.
Eg. Twilight spa break - DO NOT BOOK UNLESS GUARANTEED TREATMENTS AVAILABLE.
got through once - trying to book a massage, said it's all done by the website - NOTHING ON THE WEBSITE TO BOOK TREATMENTS! So you book the spa day in the hope that you can book treatments then, WRONG! 8 calls thereafter not answered.
Do not go for refurbished room upgrade - it's just new carpet with awful beds and bathroom
Terrible service, average food and awful breakfast.
Mens changing rooms disgusting - spa disgusting, pool disgusting. What an absolute ripoff, avoid avoid avoid

Stayed here for a pre New Year break.
Rooms are a good size and very comfortable. Evening Meal was included and a good quality but breakfast was very disappointing as eggs were all cold! Even those on the replacement tray were cold. I think the kitchen is too far from the dining room. Spa was too busy so just used sauna which was ok.
I would say this suits families rather than just couples wanting a break.

Nestled in the heart of Warwickshire’s beautiful countryside, Ardencote Spa offers a serene escape that combines luxury, relaxation, and exceptional service. From the moment I arrived, it was clear that this was going to be a memorable experience. Every detail, from the warm welcome at check-in (room was ready, 6 hours early) to the seamless check-out process, reflected the spa’s dedication to excellence. Here’s my comprehensive review of the food, services, accommodations, and overall experience.
Food: A Culinary Delight
The dining experience at Ardencote Spa exceeded all expectations. The on-site restaurant delivered a menu that was both diverse and meticulously crafted. Each dish was a testament to the chef’s creativity and skill, blending fresh, locally-sourced ingredients with innovative flavors. Breakfasts were a delightful affair, with a buffet offering everything from flaky pastries to hearty cooked options, ensuring there was something to suit every palate.
Lunch and dinner were equally impressive. I particularly enjoyed the three-course dinner, where every course was presented beautifully and tasted even better than it looked.
Services: Pampering at Its Best
Ardencote’s spa services are nothing short of spectacular. The range of treatments available ensures that every guest can find something suited to their needs. I opted for a back and scalp massage, alongside a facial, both of which left me feeling utterly relaxed and rejuvenated. The therapists were not only skilled but also attentive and friendly, ensuring that the treatments were tailored to my preferences.
The facilities themselves are world-class. The thermal suite, featuring a sauna, steam room, and experience showers, provided the perfect prelude to my treatments.
Accommodation: Comfort Meets Elegance
The accommodations at Ardencote Spa are the epitome of comfort and elegance. My room was spacious, impeccably clean, and thoughtfully designed to enhance relaxation. The bed was incredibly comfortable, albeit small for 2 people. Modern amenities, including a flat-screen TV and coffee making facilities, ensured that I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay.
Overall Experience: A Slice of Paradise
Every aspect of my stay at Ardencote Spa was thoughtfully curated to provide a first-class experience. The staff were consistently friendly, professional, and eager to ensure that my stay was perfect. The tranquil setting, coupled with the exceptional food and services, made it easy to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of daily life and fully embrace relaxation.
One of the standout aspects of Ardencote Spa is its ability to cater to a wide range of guests, including those with disability. Whether you’re visiting for a romantic getaway, a solo retreat, or a group celebration, the spa’s facilities and services can accommodate your needs with ease. The grounds, complete with manicured gardens and scenic walking trails, offer an additional layer of serenity to the experience.
In conclusion, Ardencote Spa is a haven of relaxation and luxury that I wholeheartedly recommend. From the exquisite food to the top-tier spa treatments and elegant accommodations, every element of my stay was flawless. It’s a place where you can truly unwind, recharge, and indulge in the finer things in life. I’m already looking forward to booking my next visit!

Nice and cosy place, service can be better especially when it comes to the Reception/ Check-in staff. I had a constructive feedback, about telling the guests the truth when it comes to Family Rooms. Request to see the pictures or videos of the rooms cause they are not as advertised. I was told the manager will be with you which never shortly, for 2 days l never saw him.
2. Requested for a chair to sit as there was only 2 chairs and we were a family of 4, l was told jus in 10minutes l will them and for 2 days never got one.
Restaurant facilities and service staff are amazing.

Destination spa was very good and worth visiting for a spa day but it doesn't feel like they know who to pitch to in terms of clientele. Starter and main for dinner was excellent but then the cheese board was terrible - cheap cheese and stale crackers. The breakfast wasn't good, with cheap produce of poor quality. After such a lovely/quality main course for dinner, these things felt like a let down. The dining area didn't feel intimate for dinner as it's the same space you go for breakfast and lunch - bright lights and lacking any ambience. We won't rush to go back.

I stayed here with my daughters for a birthday celebration. It is a beautiful location, though the weather wasn't great. There rooms are thoughtfully provided with ironing board, sewing set and a proper hairdryer.
We used the standard spa facilities of jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and pool. The pool was a bit cool for chatting, slow swimming. You had to brace yourself to get in but was fine if you kept moving. The following day we did an upgrade to the destination spa which was definitely worth it.
There are some areas that need a bit of tlc with paint coming off skirting boards, marked floors etc. Just seemed a bit tired.
Food was good. Our package included cream tea (not sure why the cream had to be sweetened) though it wasn't clotted cream. 3 course meal but no say on time so we had to eat much later then we wanted. Staff very pleasant and served us well and quickly. Breakfast was also good. No teas like peppermint, lemon & ginger

The rooms are lovely, the location is beautiful and the staff are friendly. However, I came for a conference and despite me informing the venue in advance of my dietary needs they had made no note of it and so I wasn't catered for. The same thing happened last year too. If I go back for the conference next year I will be bringing my own food with me!

How this is four star is beyond me. Extremely dated and stale. I was put in a room on the second floor of a building a walk away from the reception. My card did not work twice so I had to do the trip a number of times, in the rain. When I mentioned this to the receptionist he threw his arms out and shrugged. If you like rude service this might be one for you. Also the breakfast is grim.

Says Luxury hotel, but there was nothing luxurious about it. The building was probably done in the 80s, never renewed and everything looked cheap and depressing. The changing rooms at the spa were old and gross and the other spaces were also nothing special. The breakfast was nothing special and most of the food was dry and stale.
The worst part was the service. We were treated horribly by one member of staff at reception. The attitude and passive aggressiveness of this person was truly unacceptable.

We were there for a golf society event. The golf course still needs to develop and the greens need work. It was also very boggy so the drainage needs improvement. Also there are no buggies which is a big minus.
The organisation needs looking at because after the excellent meal we intended to retire to a bar but there isn’t really a dedicated bar area that you can relax in. And we were told the bar was open till midnight but they closed it at 11pm.
Overall it was rather disappointing.

The hotel is within a great location, so quiet and amazing grounds. All very green and some birds of prey on the golf course in the morning.
Rooms are spacious and clean with everything you need, but it could do with an update.
Breakfast and the evening meal were good, again everything you need, bar and restaurant could do with an update and a clean.
Didn't use the gym or pool, but it looked ok to from the outside.
Would stay again

Trying to be a 4* hotel but failing. Place needs a damn good clean, it was filthy. If they looked after the hotel as well as the grounds, then they might start to get somewhere. Stayed in much better 3* hotels!

We've been to better hotels for less money. It needs refurbishment. The breakfast was limited. The surroundings are very nice with lovely views. The entrance puts you off its not very clean. Also having to pay up front 2 weeks before our visit with a non returnable deposit doesn't bode well with us.I don't think we will return

Booked two nights through secret escapes as a 4 star treat for our birthdays.Dinner bed and breakfast. Can only be described as very disappointing. It should never have 4 stars. The ensuite in the bedroom had a crack in the sink which had obviously been there for a while as it had yellowed with age, although the room itself was clean and pleasant. When we arrived a little early our room was not quite ready, not a problem, we went to the bar to get a drink and pass the time. Next thing that we noticed was the number of dead flies arround the windowsill and on the outside patio seating a number of full ash trays, all of which had obviously been there for a while. Also the bar top was in a very poor state of repair worth peeling varnish and rough areas in a number of places. That evening at dinner we noticed that the window chills in here were also in poor repair with water stains and poor condition varnish. When the desserts was served I called over the waiter to point out the number of chips on the crockery, he just agreed with me, never offered to change it. Be aware that although this venue is a cashless property there is no system of charging things to your room so you must constantly carry a debit card with you. The next interesting thing was breakfast, it is a self service breakfast with a choice of cereals and a cooked English breakfast, I was amazed to see the staff topping up the hot food when it was getting low. They never removed the items from display but just tipped the fresh items on top of the food already there, I saw this happening with the sausages, bacon, beans and the scrambled eggs. The staff did not see this as an issue. I would say that if you are looking for a 4 star treat look elsewhere

Went for a 2 night spa weekend with 4 amazing friends and had a fantastic time. Location is beautiful and the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Went for the 3 mile perimeter walk which was well worth doing as it takes you through the lovely local countryside. We'll definitely be back.

I am so disappointed. I am booked for a Spa package next week with my friend to have dinner, bed and breakfast. We each booked a treatment for 4.45pm. The hotel emailed and asked if we wanted to bring the treatments forward to 3.30pm. We said yes. We did not realise that the Spa is only available from 2-5pm. The pool, sauna and gym are available the whole time are there. I feel it such a pity that will barely have an hour in the special spa area (we have to arrive for our treatment 15 mins early). I have called the Spa to see if we could reverse the times or get something sllghtly later but they have said there is nothing they can do. I must admit I feel a bit cheated. I hope we get to enjoy our special time away but it has made me very wary of booking this type of thing in the future.

Competitive prices on spa breaks, however I would not class this as a '5 star luxury hotel'. Parts of the spa not working. You cannot charge food/drinks/treatments to your room so you need to carry money with you. Worst thing was that the bath in our room did not drain - dangerous and unhygienic - I have tried to complain but had no response from the management, despite 2 emails. We were told they would respond within 14 days (!) but have not. Also, my friend got married here a while ago (I was a bridesmaid) and they made mistakes with the bookings so I would double check everything with them if hosting a wedding here.
